Wish Fulfillment Bracelet

I haven't posted in almost a year, as the purpose of this blog was to be a summer project for last year. However,  I recently have been thinking that it would be nice to have a place to blog about things I have been making again. I won't be posting every day like I did before, but I will be periodically sharing things I am working on!

Starting today, with this plaid wrap bracelet I made to add to my Etsy shop.

This is modeled after a bracelet I saw in the Anthropologie store and just fell in love with. I made one for myself and a few friends, then after I'd gotten a few suggestions to do so, I made another one to sell.
The name "Wish Fulfillment Bracelet" is from the Anthropologie one, which was made by women in Rwanda, and had a legend to go along with it.

"In accordance with tradition, hook this bracelet around your own wrist, or the wrist of a loved one, when there is something in life you desire. Wear the bracelet until it falls off naturally, at which time your dream will come true"

I feel a little bit bad for not buying that one and supporting the women in Rwanda, but I had so much fun making it (and my family already supports Rwanda in a small way by buying Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee).
